Hello everyone! My name is Bella and I’m here to share some honest reviews of restaurants I have been to as well as give some recommendations for your next night out that isn’t too far from campus… but will be worth the drive to eat.

My boyfriend and I decided at the last minute to go to the Brewers opening day game on Tuesday, April 2 and I think I was more excited about the new food options than the game itself if you ask me! This year, American Family Field introduced a whole new section of food from 3rd Street Market Hall, located near Grand Avenue Mall in Downtown Milwaukee. This section in American Family Field features food from four restaurants, Kompali Tacos, Smokin’ Jacks BBQ, Kawa (Asian Food), and Anytime Arepa.

When my boyfriend and I entered the ballpark before the game, I immediately spotted a mini cart from the BarrelYard Restaurant (see last article) serving the brandy slushies I loved! Two minutes after the slushie was done being made, we trekked our way to our seats on nearly the opposite side of the field.

During the fourth inning of the game, I finally decided to make my way up the escalators to the floor above where we were sitting to go get some tacos. If you couldn’t tell by my reviews so far, I LOVE TACOS! I could eat them all day every day, I might as well BE a taco. I ordered two chicken tacos from Kompali Tacos with onions, basil, and their spicy sauce that I basically dumped on my tacos. It was a bit tricky carrying tacos down two flights of stairs to get back to my seat but, WOW these tacos were amazing! It felt like I was in Mexico with my family eating tacos either by the pool or on the mountain side. I was not expecting tacos at a baseball game to be so flavorful and slightly inexpensive ($8.99) for two tacos.

Shortly after I finished the two tacos, I was so thankful that I didn’t have to get up to get a pretzel because one of the traveling vendors had them ready… I was so happy I didn’t have to make the people next to me get up! I was on a salt kick so I had high expectations for this pretzel since it was locally made (Milwaukee Pretzel Co.)… and it exceeded my expectations! Just the right amount of salt to the point where I didn’t get extreme bloating or dehydration from the pretzel.

Overall, the new vendor in the ballpark exceeded my expectations for flavor and price knowing that food can be overpriced in sports venues. I think the food hall options are a must try for your next Brewers game!

Go Brewers!
