We are celebrating! Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) has been ranked second in Best Online Schools In Wisconsin For 2017! This is truly something of which to be proud. Curious about why our online university is the second best in the state? Let’s briefly check out the statistics from the Community for Accredited Online Schools to discover what makes CUW a top school.
WHY CONCORDIA?
Twenty-three schools made the list. All had to be four-year, accredited, online universities. They were evaluated by cost, offerings, and three additional benefits (placement services, counseling services, and credits for experience). In other words, the ranking focused on numbers that significantly impact students.
Concordia University Wisconsin Online:
- Provides 98% of students with financial aid
- As opposed to first place, UW – Madison, at only 36%
- Costs an average or slightly above average amount
- Schools rated on a scale of $ to $$$$$; CUW received $$
- Offers 120 programs
- Only three other schools had more than 100
- Ratio of 13-18 students to every teacher
- Small class sizes allow for individual attention
- Graduates 59% of students
- The majority of universities graduate less than 55% of their online students
- Supplies ALL THREE additional benefits: placement services, counseling services, and credits for experience
- Half of the other schools have two or less, including first place, UW-Madison

This allows you to decide if these statistics, like the 98% of students awarded financial aid or small class sizes, are relevant to you and your educational needs. You can know that Concordia is objectively better. By obtaining the information from a third-party source, you can be certain about the objectivity of the ranking. Schools typically emphasize the areas in which they shine, and downplay where others are better. Although a school may be good, if you only hear from the institution itself, it is hard to know if they are better. Now, you don’t have to worry about all talk and no action.
OUR RESPONSE
Here at Concordia, we intend to continue doing what best serves our students. Our mission to prepare students for service to Christ will remain. Professors will keep teaching to the best of their ability. We will keep providing quality resources and assistance; we have no intention of becoming stagnant. As a Christian, online university, Concordia will continue growing and improving wherever possible. We will receive this compliment and let it motivate us to be even better.
