Dr. Linda Samuel, Dean of Human ServicesDr. Linda Samuel, Dean of Human Services

The School of Human Services at CUW has named a new Dean recently. On November 1, Dr. Linda Samuel took over for Dr. Ruth Gresley who retired in August after her long tenure at CUW. According to Senior Vice President of Academics, Dr. William Cario, after a six month search it became apparent to nearly everyone involved in the hiring process that Dr. Samuel was the best candidate for this leadership position.

Dr. Samuel started working at CUW in 1995 as a full-time faculty member of the Occupational Therapy (OT) Department. Before becoming the new Dean she was a full professor and had been Director of the OT Department since 2003.

“I am looking forward to working with all the faculty and staff within the School of Human Services,” said Samuel. “I think together we will make a strong team as we move forward to address the needs of our students and the community,” Samuel added.

Departments within the School of Human Services that Dr. Samuel will be overseeing include: medical assistant, social work, diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, undergraduate and graduate nursing, occupational therapy and physical therapy.
