The saying “many hands make light work” was put to the test last Saturday in Grafton. During a recent storm, high winds took down a massive tree. The elderly couple who live at the residence have limited means and couldn’t afford the cut up and removal of the tree.

Neighbor Paula Jacobson mentioned this to Jeff Corner, who contracted Kevin Koch, Concordia University Wisconsin head wrestling coach. Koch rounded up seven wrestlers last Saturday morning, putting their muscle to the test.

Those involved in removing the massive tree in Grafton the weekend of Sept. 16 are pictured left. They include: (front row from left) Jack Knetter of the Grafton Public Works Department and CUW wrestlers Matt Saladana, Miguel Betancourt and Bryan Diaz, (back row from left) CUW wrestlers Cameron Caldwell, Eric Martinson, Merrick O’Donnell, and Noah Hardy.
