Concordia University Wisconsin (CUW) is pleased to offer Wisconsin business students and leaders an opportunity to network and discuss important global business issues with Chinese business leaders and students during telecasts hosted by CUW’s School of Business Administration. Introducing the Global Leaders Speaker Series, a series of live, international student discussions that include Concordia students from both Wisconsin and China that is led by a global business leader and moderated by Dan Sem, dean of the School of Business Administration.
The first speaker event, on Friday, September 16, will feature Damian Felton, director, U.S. Commercial Service Wisconsin and the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. The event will take place on CUW’s campus in the Concordia Center for Environmental Stewardship, 12800 N. Lake Shore Drive, Mequon. A networking reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the talk will start at 6:30 p.m. The date and time were selected to accommodate the more than 100 Chinese MBA students who will be participating from Shanghai and Guangzhou, China.
“It is a unique feature of our MBA Global Concentration program that students from around the world can come together to discuss important global business issues,” said Sem. “The Global Leaders Speakers Series was created to increase our interaction with our Chinese MBA students, many of whom are already successful business leaders, and grow our business partnerships in China.”
Concordia University Wisconsin currently has more than 100 MBA students in China.

About Damian Felton:
Damian Felton is the Director for the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Service office in Milwaukee, WI, where he assists Wisconsin businesses with expanding their export capabilities. Damian comes to Milwaukee by way of the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China where he was a primary U.S. government representative ensuring fair and transparent access for U.S. exporters impacted by Chinese trade remedy proceedings.
Before Beijing, Damian worked in Washington, D.C. at the U.S. Department of Commerce where he helped to protect U.S. commercial interests from unfair pricing by foreign companies and unfair subsidization of foreign companies by their governments. In this role, he focused on investigations of subsidized imports from China and led verification teams to China to conduct detailed due diligence of foreign companies’ and Chinese government agencies’ financial reporting.
