Groups performing that evening are the Civic Chorale, directed by Prof. Mark Bloedow; String Orchestra, directed by Dr. Louis Menchaca; Chapel Choir, directed by Dr. Alexa Doebele; Chapel Ringers, directed by Bloedow; Selah, directed by Dr. Doebele; Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Menchaca; The Alleluia Ringers, directed by Bloedow; Kammerchor, directed by Dr. Doebele; and a combined University Band and Symphonic Wind Ensemble, directed by Mrs. Johanna Anderson and Dr. Menchaca.
“We’ll be playing a variety of tunes that night including The Beach Boys’ greatest hits,” noted Menchaca, longtime music department chairman. The Alleluia Ringers will perform Gustav Holst’s “Beyond All Praising” and Lorie Line’s “Joyful, Joyful,” while the String Orchestra presents Leonard Bernstein’s “One Hand, One Heart,” among other selections.
