For the fifth year in a row, faculty, staff, students, and alumni from Concordia University Wisconsin are encouraged to register to compete in the University Challenge, part of the 36th annual Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon on Oct. 2. Registration for the event is currently open and will close on May 31.

Each year, teams made up of faculty, staff, students, and alumni from CUW, Marquette University, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee compete against each other to win honors during the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon.

To prepare for the event, Concordia will offer training programs for participants and group runs throughout the training period. Participants are invited to attend weekly runs on Saturday mornings with Run Ozaukee, a running group in Cedarburg, and a culminating training event on Sept. 10. For this event, runners will get the chance to run the entire course before the competition and will be provided with transportation back to campus.

The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is a U.S.A. Track and Field certified course that stretches from Grafton to Milwaukee and passes through CUW’s campus. On average, the race draws 3,500 runners annually, with CUW bringing in around 44 participants in past years.
